Program Overview

At The Wellness Crossing (Our second location inside The CulTure Christian Gym), we are committed to providing supportive, Christ-centered groups that promote healing, connection, and growth. Our programs include a free Veterans Healing & Resilience Support Group. This initiative grew out of Walk by Faith Counseling's Founder and his own journey with service-connected PTSD. As both a veteran and a counselor, he knows how vital it has been to have places of support along the way. That’s why this group is offered free of charge — so, as those who have served, can support one another.

  • This group is designed for Veterans seeking Christ-centered healing:
  • Regulate: Light Exercise to calm the body
  • Relate: Story Sharing & Support
  • Reason: Transforming hardship into testimony, trusting God to work all things together for good. (Romans 8:28)

  • Veterans' Support Group Begins Thursday, October 2nd (7:00 PM - 8:15 PM)
Veterans' group facilitated by Terry Reese LPC, CWO-R, providing a safe, supportive environment for connection, healing, and encouragement.

Veterans' Healing & Resilience Support Group

Free for Veterans (enrollment required)

Regulate (light exercise to calm the body): Movement helps release stress stored in the body, calm the nervous system, and restore balance. For veterans, this is especially important in easing the physical toll of hypervigilance and service-related stress.

Relate (Story Sharing & Support): Sharing experiences in a safe, supportive group reduces isolation, builds trust, and strengthens connection. Veterans often carry burdens that civilians may not understand—being with others who “get it” creates a sense of camaraderie similar to what was experienced in service.

Reason: Transforming hardship into testimony, trusting God to work all things together for good.

(Romans 8:28)

THE WELLNESS CROSSING

WHERE FAITH, FITNESS & MENTAL HEALTH MEET

We are excited to announce that Walk By Faith Counseling will open it's second location inside The CulTure, a Christian gym in the Fox Valley, beginning September 15th.

As a veteran with service-connected PTSD, I’ve long envisioned a space where fitness and mental health could come together—especially to support other veterans. This integration has played a significant role in my own healing journey. In May, I reached out to Mr. Cameron Brown, the owner of The CulTure, to gain his insight on whether this vision was truly feasible. I understood how a counseling center runs, but the behind-the-scenes of a gym was completely new territory for me.

What unfolded was nothing short of providential. Cameron shared that he, too, had been dreaming of integrating faith, fitness, and mental health—but specifically for youth. He also explained that he would soon be relocating back to Kentucky to step into full-time ministry, while his cousin, Manny Johnson, would continue serving as General Manager of The CulTure.

A week later, our families met up at Noah’s Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Kentucky, and while our children explored the exhibits, we shared and refined our vision—a youth-centered program, a unique space for veterans, and expanded services for the general public—all designed to blend faith, fitness, and mental health. In that moment, The Wellness Crossing was born, where faith, fitness, and mental health meet.

A photo of our families together at Noah’s Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Kentucky is included here to commemorate that special day and the unity of our vision.

This October, our aim is to:

  • Begin offering integrated fitness and mental health services for clients when clinically indicated and desired.
  • Create veteran-focused support groups that incorporate light fitness in a faith-enriched, safe environment.

We know that for many, a gym environment can feel intimidating--or even overwhelming. But simple movement, walking and talking, and being seen in a supportive environment can release endorphins, reduce anxiety and depression, and build confidence. That’s what we hope to offer through The Wellness Crossing.

Throughout August and September, we’ll be preparing—renovating spaces, establishing policies and procedures, and getting everything in place to bring this vision to life. Lord willing, this new initiative will become a healing resource for many in the Fox Valley community.

We can’t wait to share more in the coming weeks.
